Purpose & Summary |
The purpose of the workshop is to discuss and understand existing and future NPMS submission technical issues. The target audience is GIS analysts who prepare NPMS submissions. The intent of this workshop is not to discuss the substance of any proposed new data elements (attributes) or opinions on the new data elements (attributes). This workshop is open to the public and there is no cost to attend. When registering, please indicate the stakeholder group that you best identify with. BACKGROUND: Gas transmission and hazardous liquid pipeline operators are required to annually submit geospatial data, attributes, data, and public contact information to PHMSA's National Pipeline Mapping System. Operators store GIS data in various formats and have different procedures for preparing their NPMS submissions. This workshop will explore how operators are preparing their submissions, focusing especially on how they determine segmentation in their GIS layers and whether they store their data in linear referencing format. REGISTRANT NOTICE: You may register online once the location of the workshop has been finalized. On the day of the workshop, registrants should pick up their name badges at the registration desk. On-site participant registration will also be available on the day of the workshop.
